I’ve stumbled upon an amazing travel backpack that helps keep electronics organized, solves unpacking hassle at airport security, and looks great.
The best part? I’m giving one away to a lucky reader! Details are at the end of the post. Edit 07/03/16: Contest is now closed.
How often have you been frustrated by the inconvenience when passing through airport security? They keep telling you to take off your shoes, remove anything metal, and unpack all electronics time and time again.
And if you’re like most people in the 21st century, you probably travel with a lot of gadgets: you’ll definitely be carrying your cell phone; headphones are a must too; you may travel with your laptop or a tablet; perhaps you bring your camera and all of its accessories too, a backup external hard drive is always important as well. Emptying out all these devices into the grey bins every time you have to pass through security can be quite the hassle — which brings me to why I’m so excited to share with you my latest discovery.
The ecbc Hercules Laptop Travel Backpack makes staying organized so easy and going through security quick and painless (or as painless as it can be). It has a 20 L capacity and weighs 1.2 kg (2.7 lbs).
My Favourite Things About the Hercules Backpack
Checkpoint-Friendly FastPass System
The Hercules backpack has a fold out back compartment featuring the FastPass system. This allows all your electronic gadgets to stay in your bag when going through the conveyor. There’s no need to unpack a single thing!
This backpack is made of a waterproof Korda Nylon material and has water-sealing YKK zippers. If you’re ever caught in the rain or snow, you don’t have to worry about your technology getting too wet.
I love that the Hercules comes with a 4500 aMh power pack to keep my cell phone, which also happens to be my camera, charged and ready for use. I don’t like to go a day without snapping a few photos of random moments and my daily adventures — it’s kind of like my personal photo diary. When I’m travelling, I like to take even more photos and videos, and my cell phone would run out of battery within no time at all. Thanks to this power pack, I can now go three or four days without needing a wall socket. It’s also great for keeping other electronics, such as cameras, tablets, and e-readers, charged and ready to go.
Comfy Back Panel
The padded back panel has a moisture wicking air mesh that can dissipate heat as well as provide comfort. This couldn’t be anymore perfect for me. Summer or winter, I am almost always perpetually hot. I’m the one wearing tank tops to class while everyone else is wrapped in sweaters. Sometimes my glasses would fog up from the heat emanating from my face. And I go out in -20°C weather in what my dad calls a “fall jacket”. At least this backpack can help me remain as cool as I possibly can!
Comfy Shoulder Straps and Chest Strap
This backpack has fully padded and adjustable shoulder straps. It also has a chest strap with adjustable buckle height.
The Hercules has 21 storage compartments in total which helps make staying organized so much easier. In terms of pockets for tech gear, this backpack has a laptop compartment that can hold up to a 17” screen, a padded iPad or Tablet pocket, and a phone pocket. It also has slots for your pens, notebooks, cables, external hard drives, passport, and other small items.
Zippered Water Bottle Holder
Ok, this should really be part of the compartments point above, but water is vital and I felt compelled to give it it’s own bullet. Besides my sister, I don’t know anyone else who drinks as much water as me — I easily drink 4 L of a day! And even if you don’t drink as much water as me, staying hydrated, especially on the road, is important and this easy access pocket makes life so much easier.
I really like this bag and I think it makes both a great carry-on bag and general travel bag for anyone who travels with technology. It’s sleek, well-made, and designed specifically with the modern traveller in mind.
